Pottery Care Tips

Handcrafted pottery is pretty awesome!! Its made with love and care, and with a little attention, you can keep your pieces looking beautiful for years to come. Here are some tips to help you care for your pottery:

1. Washing
All my pottery is dishwasher safe ( unless otherwise stated), but to preserve its lifespan, hand washing it with mild soap and warm water is recommended. Avoid using abrasive sponges or harsh detergents that may scratch the surface.

2. Microwave Use
My pieces are microwave-safe (unless otherwise stated); however, avoid sudden temperature changes (like going from the refrigerator to the microwave) as this can cause cracking. Always heat items gradually and use caution when handling hot pottery.

3. Oven Use
While my pottery is durable, it’s best to avoid placing it into an oven. Avoid using on open flames.

4. Avoid Freezing
Freezing temperatures can cause pottery to crack, so it’s best not to store your handmade pieces in the freezer.

6. Stains & Marks
To remove stubborn stains or metal marks (like from utensils), use a paste of baking soda and water. Gently scrub the area with a soft cloth, rinse well, and dry.

By following these simple care tips, your handcrafted pottery will remain a treasured part of your home for years to come.
